Each city has a default list of 4 'old' food items that are always available at the Inn for purchase. Food items can be purchased and taken with you for recovering stamina while in a wilderness area between cities, etc and also provide a temporary small stat boost. Food items produced by local Kitchens, by owning a [[businesses|Business]] in that city, are also available for purchase in limited amounts.

There are four levels of quality for all food items. Old, Plain, Seasoned and Fresh. The quality of the food will determine how much benefit you receive. Each item will also remain in your system for a number of turns. The worse the quality, the longer it will stay in your system, and the smaller the stat bonus will be. Investing profession points in the Cook [[Professions|Profession]] can reduce the digestion rate further.

Here is a list of the food items that can be bought, their effects and base digestion rate.
