Alignment is a stat that tracks the character's progression between the Light and the Shadow. A positive number means that the player is leaning towards the Light, while a negative number means that the player is leaning towards the Shadow. All character's start with alignment at 0.

Alignment is visible to all players, on a characters profile and on the "duel" tab in game.

CHARACTER ALIGNMENT

The table below shows what alignment number a player needs to get a certain title, for example to "Lean Light" a character would need to have at least 300 (or more) in their alignment stat. However, once the player reaches 1000 points, they will now get the title "Light", dubbed "Full".

Alignment Light Shadow
Neutral 0 to 299 0 to -299
Lean 300 to 999 -300 to -999
Full 1000 -1000

Alignment affects Alignment Skills, which are 7 active skills that become available the more alignment you have in either direction (Light or Shadow). Different active skills are available to Shadow and Light characters.

To change a character's alignment, there are several things you can do:

Dueling

Dueling players with specific alignment will change your Alignment.

Att/Def Light L. Light Neutral L. Shadow Shadow
Light -3 -2 -1 +0 +1
Lean Light -2 -1 +0 +1 +2
Neutral -2 -1 +0 +1 +2
Lean Shadow -2 -1 +0 +1 +2
Shadow -1 +0 +1 +2 +3

The following is how Alignment will change when Dueling:

Alignment += (Experience gain/20) x (Alignment modifier + Stance modifier)

Where

"Experience gain" is how much exp you gain from the duel (~20 for equal opponent),

"Alignment modifier" is the number from the table above, and

"Stance modifier" is +1 if your opponent is an enemy or -1 if it's an ally.

Couple examples to help it make sense:

  1. You're a Light character attacking a Lean Shadow character that is in an enemy clan. You gain 20 experience from the duel.
    • (20/20) x (0+1) = +1
Your alignment goes up by 1.
  2. You're a Shadow character attacking another Shadow character in an enemy clan. You lose so you only gain 10 experience.
    • (10/20) x (3+1) = +2
Your alignment goes up by 2.
  3. You're a Neutral player attacking a Light player in an allied clan. They're a higher level and you win so you gain 25 experence.
    • (25/20) x (-1-1) = -2.5
Your alignment goes down by 2.5

Hordes or Armies

When fighting hordes, clicking on the horde button will give you positive points pushing you towards the Light. However, whenever a horde appears there are also Armies, and battling armies will give you negative points pushing you towards the Shadow.

Similar to dueling, Fighting Hordes will count as a Lean Light battle and fighting Armies will count as a Lean Shadow battle. Fighting the Megahordes of the Last Battle will count as full Light and the Armies will count as full Shadow.

Quests

All quests that appear in Cities now have alignment associated with them, and will change your alignment when completed.

  • Light Quest = 25% (colored Yellow)
  • Neutral Quest = 50% (colored Blue)
  • Shadow Quest = 25% (colored Red)

Offices

You can purchase an Office in a local City Hall. These offices not only help, or hurt, the ruling clan, but also will increase, or decrease, your alignment.

  1. Increase Order: +0.1 to alignment per Order increase
  2. Increase Chaos: -0.1 to alignment per Chaos increase
  3. Increase City Funds: +0.001 to alignment per CP added to the bank (so 1 per 10 SM)
  4. Decrease City Funds: -0.001 to alignment per CP taken from the bank (so 1 per 10 SM)
  5. Strengthen City Defense: +1 to alignment per 333 Defense increase
  6. Weaken City Defense: -1 to alignment per 333 Defense decrease
  7. Increase Ruler Ji:
    • Ruler with positive alignment: +1 to alignment per 3 Ji increase
    • Ruler with negative alignment (or 0): -1 to alignment per 3 Ji increase
  8. Decrease Ruler Ji:
    • Ruler with positive alignment: -1 to alignment per 3 Ji increase
    • Ruler with negative alignment (or 0): +1 to alignment per 3 Ji increase

For the increase/decrease Ruler Ji, the effect is based on the alignment of the Ruler. As it's currently coded, if the ruler has an alignment greater than 0 they are considered Light and less than or equal to 0 they are considered Shadow.
